Our Story

A home in the heart of a working coffee estate

Welcome to Misty Bridge, our family home at Jodupala, near Madenadu — 14 km from Madikeri town on Mangalore Road. Set slightly above road level in the folds of the Western Ghats, the house looks straight out over misty valleys, shade-grown coffee and a gentle stream below.

Your host Appaji, an ex-serviceman, brings the discipline, warmth and deep respect for hospitality of a life spent in service. Today he dedicates himself to nurturing the land through creative, regenerative farming — coffee under native shade trees, fruit orchards, spices and seasonal produce, all growing together in a living, biodiverse estate.

Alongside him, his wife — a traditional Coorg homemaker — fills the house with the essence of local culture: authentic homemade Kodava flavours, festive foods, and the comforting, unhurried atmosphere of a true Coorg household. Guests arrive as visitors and leave feeling like family.

  • Shade-grown coffee & regenerative farming
  • Fruit trees, spices & seasonal produce
  • Authentic home-cooked Coorg cuisine
  • Stream access & plantation walks

What Makes Us Different

The Coffee Farm & Fruit Orchard

This isn't a hotel with a garden — it's a living, working estate you get to be part of.

Coffee plants growing under shade trees on the estate

Shade-Grown Coffee

Walk the plantation with Appaji and see coffee cultivation up close — from blossom to bean, grown under native shade trees the regenerative way.

Fruit trees and spice plants in the estate orchard

Fruit Trees & Spices

Oranges, bananas, jackfruit, avocado, pepper and cardamom — taste whatever is in season, straight from the tree to your table.

The stream running below the property

The Stream

A short walk brings you to a clear mountain stream — dip your feet, skip stones, and let the kids (and grown-ups) play.

Home-cooked traditional Coorg food

Farm-to-Table Coorg Food

Traditional Kodava dishes cooked at home with estate produce — the festive foods of Coorg that guests never stop talking about.
